Counselors in Training (15-17 yr olds)

Who wouldn’t want one of the best jobs in the entire world? Being a counselor at LVR IS everything it’s cracked up to be. Join us for the summer to get prepared to take it on when you’re old enough.

During these 2-4 weeks, counselors in training have the opportunity to learn about being a camp counselor. First year CITs attend for 2 weeks and the price is $585. Second year Advanced Counselors in Training attend for 3 weeks for just $300, and Junior Counselors attend for 4 weeks for free!

During your first week as a CIT you will take part in a training experience learning how to teach the various activities at camp. The second week you will be with a cabin group applying what you’ve learned. Each year builds on the experience learned from previous years.

Junior Counselor

July 6– August 1, 2025

*4 week commitment, must have completed CIT & ACIT

Junior Wrangler

While we won’t be offering “Future Wranglers” camp this year, we are adding “Junior Wrangler” officially to the CIT program. 
 
Like a CIT they will come for two weeks at a time. They can come more weeks each successive year they come. The Junior Wrangler will be primarily under the care of the Lead Wrangler with some assistance from the J-Staff coordinator. They will go to a daily meeting to be filled spiritually, set goals and become a team with the other CIT’s. They will join in some other CIT training exorcizes but will primarily spend their time at the stables, prepping horses for campers, feeding horses, maintaining the stables and teach campers about the horses.  There will be some time for joining rides as well. Because of the hard physical work and lack of free time at the stables, this two week stent will be free of charge.
